Legal terms governing your use of the RunLink platform

Acceptance and Modification of Terms

By accessing or using RunLink's services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this service.

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of the service following any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.

User Eligibility and Account Requirements

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Must maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Must comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws

Account Responsibilities:

You are solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.

Subscription and Payment Terms

Subscription Plans:

RunLink offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid plans provide access to premium features as described on our pricing page. Plan availability and features may change over time.

Billing and Auto-Renewal:

  • Auto-renewal: Paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless you cancel before the renewal date.
  • Billing platforms: Payments are processed through Stripe (web), Apple App Store (iOS), or Google Play (Android) depending on how you subscribe.
  • Trial periods: If a free trial is offered, you will be charged at the end of the trial period unless you cancel beforehand.
  • Upgrades: When upgrading plans mid-cycle, charges will be prorated for the remaining billing period.

Cancellation:

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings, the App Store, or Google Play. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period. No refunds will be issued for partial billing periods.

In-App Purchases:

Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play are also subject to the respective platform's terms and conditions, including their refund policies. To manage subscriptions purchased through an app store, use the subscription management settings on your device.

Prohibited Uses and Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose or to solicit others to perform unlawful acts
  • Violate any international, federal, provincial, or state regulations, rules, laws, or local ordinances
  • Transmit or procure the sending of any advertising or promotional material, including spam or unsolicited communications
  • Impersonate or attempt to impersonate the Company, employees, another user, or any other person or entity
  • Engage in any other conduct that restricts or inhibits anyone's use or enjoyment of the service
  • Send harassing, abusive, threatening, or offensive messages through the platform
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits, security measures, or access controls
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the service without prior written consent

Messaging and Content Moderation

RunLink provides direct messaging and group chat features. By using these features, you agree to the following:

Acceptable Messaging Conduct:

  • All messages must comply with our prohibited uses policy above
  • Do not share illegal, harmful, or explicit content in messages
  • Do not use messaging for commercial solicitation or spam

Content Moderation:

RunLink reserves the right to review, remove, or restrict access to any user-generated content, including messages, at our discretion. Users may report objectionable content through the in-app reporting feature. Violations may result in warnings, message deletion, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination depending on severity.

Health Data and Fitness Features

Important Health Disclaimers:

  • Not a medical service: RunLink is a fitness tracking and community platform, not a medical device or healthcare provider. Our platform does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
  • Data accuracy: While we strive to display accurate health and fitness data, RunLink makes no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of health metrics synced from Apple Health, Google Fit, or other sources. Sensor data may contain errors.
  • User responsibility: You are solely responsible for any health or fitness decisions you make based on data displayed in RunLink. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting or modifying any exercise program.
  • Emergency situations: RunLink is not designed for use in emergencies. If you experience a medical emergency, call your local emergency services immediately.

You may connect or disconnect Apple Health, Google Fit, and other health data sources at any time through your app settings. Disconnecting a source will stop future data syncing but will not automatically delete previously synced data. To delete previously synced health data, use the data management options in your account settings or contact us.

Biometric Authentication

RunLink supports biometric authentication (Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint) for convenient and secure app access. Important disclosures:

  • Biometric authentication is processed entirely on your device using the operating system's built-in biometric APIs (Apple Face ID/Touch ID, Android BiometricPrompt)
  • RunLink never receives, stores, or transmits your biometric templates (fingerprints, facial geometry)
  • We only receive a success or failure signal from the device's biometric system
  • You can enable or disable biometric authentication at any time in your app settings

Club Administration and Event Management

Club Administrators are granted additional privileges and responsibilities within the platform. By accepting Club Administrator status, you agree to:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date club information
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations when organizing events
  • Assume full responsibility for the safety and conduct of club events
  • Handle member data accessed through admin tools responsibly and in compliance with applicable privacy laws
  • Not misuse admin privileges to access, export, or share member data for purposes unrelated to club operations
  • Indemnify RunLink against any claims arising from club activities

Referral Program

RunLink may offer a referral program allowing users to invite others to the platform. By participating, you agree to the following:

  • Referral links are for personal, non-commercial use only
  • Self-referrals, fake accounts, and other fraudulent activities are prohibited
  • RunLink uses automated fraud detection and reserves the right to revoke referral benefits for any suspected abuse
  • Referral rewards, terms, and eligibility may change or end at any time at our discretion

Platform Experience and Testing

RunLink continually improves the platform through feature experiments and A/B testing. Your experience may vary from other users as part of these tests. By using the service, you acknowledge that:

  • Feature availability may vary based on testing groups, subscription plan, or region
  • We may use feature flags to gradually roll out or test new functionality
  • API rate limits apply (approximately 100 requests per minute for general use) to ensure platform stability

Push Notifications

By enabling push notifications, you consent to receive notifications from RunLink on your device. You can manage notification preferences at any time through:

  • Per-category notification settings within the RunLink app
  • Do Not Disturb scheduling within the app
  • Your device's system notification settings

Intellectual Property Rights

The service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Yikes Dude LLC and its licensors. The service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

By submitting content to RunLink, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the content in connection with the service and our business operations.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. RUNLINK MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

RunLink shall not be liable for:

  • Any injuries, accidents, or incidents occurring during running events or club activities
  • Actions, content, information, or data of third parties, including club administrators and members
  • Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein
  • Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the service
  • Inaccuracies in health data, GPS routes, performance metrics, or personal records
  • Any health decisions made based on data displayed within the platform

IN NO EVENT SHALL RUNLINK'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO RUNLINK IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Yikes Dude LLC (dba RunLink), its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

  • Your access to or use of the service
  • Your violation of these Terms of Service
  • Your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights
  • Any content you submit, post, or transmit through the service
  • Any activities conducted through your account, whether or not authorized by you

Termination and Data Handling

We may terminate or suspend your account and bar access to the service immediately, without prior notice or liability, under our sole discretion, for any reason whatsoever, including but not limited to a breach of the Terms.

If you wish to terminate your account, you may do so through your account settings or by contacting us.

Upon Account Termination:

  • You may request a full data export (JSON, CSV, GPX formats) before deletion
  • Your profile, activities, messages, and health data will be deleted within 30 days
  • Payment and billing records will be retained for 7 years as required by law
  • Anonymized and aggregated data may be retained indefinitely
  • Active subscriptions should be cancelled through your billing platform before account deletion

Force Majeure

RunLink shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, acts of war or terrorism, pandemics, government actions, power failures, internet or telecommunications failures, cyberattacks, or third-party service provider outages.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be interpreted and governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in Austin, Texas.
